Well, let's see... It's July in Wisconsin, the mid-point of our disappointingly short summer season up here. My 16 year old son is enjoying a week in the Colorado wilderness outside Colorado Springs. My 15 year old daughter is finishing her 3rd week as volunteer staff at Lake Lundgren Bible Camp in the Wisconsin north woods. My parents are spending 8 days at their "home away from home", also in the north woods of Wisconsin. And my 18 year old son and I must have drawn the short straws, as we are left with the responsibility of moving our household to our new home across town while the rest of our family enjoys the things that summer is all about. Still, there are numerous bright spots to focus on.

First, I love our new house, so the whole moving thing isn't so bad. Living in the small, somewhat "red-neck" town that I do, young men with pickup trucks are not in short supply. My son's friends have been very willing helpers (for the most part)in getting large items across town.

Second, the AAWD awarded Career Extenders, Inc and the AnterioRest support the Best New Product for Women for 2008. Some of you may have already seen my earlier post of this event. It has been exciting to see the additional interest this recognition has generated.

Third, we are thrilled to be part of the launch of a new distribution company here in Wisconsin. Professional Health Equipment Distributors has hit the ground running with the AnterioRest product. Paul Cherrier is a new member of Dental Sales Pro and a sales representative for Professional Health. I know DSP will be a great resource for him,
since he is new to the dental industry. I know everyone that is a member is always willing to share and encourage us newbies.

So, as I trudge through the back-to-school aisles of the department stores, trying to push back the inevitable end to summer, I have to say that Summer 2008 has the earmarks of being one of those periods that I will be able to look back on and say "that was the beginning of..."

How are the "lazy days of summer" (yeah, right) going for everyone else out there?

Who would've thought! I guess it goes to show how slow things really are in the dental industry during the summer!

I'm sure the surf gurus would love to give you some pointers. It sounds like they would use any excuse to get in the water (even surfing in the winter in NJ! bbbrrrrr!). A non-surfer in So. Cal... wow. Then again, I don't snowmobile, ski, or ice-fish and I'm a Wisconsinite.

Christine, your blog is the hottest thing going on DSP at the moment!
I've paddled out on a surfboard many times over the course of a summer .MANY years ago - but I never "got it.". You think one of the surf gurus posting here would give me some pointers in HI?

Looks like I joined the dental industry at just the right time. Hawai'i, here I come! I thought I would get to visit when my stepson was stationed at Schofield, but no luck. We were giving him a hard time about his "tough assignment" and he said he actually wished he was stationed somewhere else. He was bored and didn't like being stuck on an island. Go figure. I guess he should have learned to surf!

Wow Hawaii gets both the ADA and AAPD meeting in the same year. What strings got pulled over on the islands?

Remind me in my next life to come back as you. LOL

I always send out pictures of me surfing on Christmas day (with no wet suit). I also have a house in Red Rock, 35 minutes north of Reno, Nevada, so I do remember the snowboarding part of winter, just to cold!

Ouch! Hey it's warm here today. I'll send you some killer snowboarding and skiing pictures in February. Frostbite is part of the deal here.

What is a wet suit or booties or gloves or hoods? Is this something you wear outdoors??
